Daily Snacks

As you know, children rely on eating small snacks between meals.  Children's stomachs are much smaller than our adult stomach's so they need to feed their hunger with supplementary healthy snacks between meals.  Healthy snacks, such as fruits and vegetables, help take the edge off of hunger and they provide insurance that your child is obtaining essential vitamins and minerals to promote optimal growth and energy and ultimately increases a student's ability to concentrate at school.  All students are welcome and encouraged to bring either a fruit or vegetable each school day for snack.  Due to life-threatening airborne food allergies among students, I ask that the children try to bring either fruits or vegetables for snack in an effort to reduce the risk of cross-contamination.  In addition to providing a healthy snack for your child, I encourage my students to bring in a spill-proof water bottle to school every day.

Please note: ALL snacks consumed in the classroom MUST be free from peanuts, tree nuts, and dairy products.  Please double check the labels for traces of these ingredients as they can easily be overlooked.  Thank you so much for your diligence at home!
